Elizabeth May joins former Whistler mayor and Green Party candidate Ken Melamed at the campaign rally
(OTTAWA) - Elizabeth May, Leader of the Green Party of Canada (Saanich- Gulf Island), joins former Whistler mayor and Green Party candidate Ken Melamed (West Vancouver - Sunshine Coast - Sea to Sky Country), and supporters for the “Defend our Coasts” rally in Squamish this evening.The Green Party’s plan will: restore and enhance Canada’s environmental laws, legislate a ban on supertankers on B.C’s coast, defend the St. Lawrence River, place a moratorium on drilling for oil and gas in the Gulf of St. Lawrence, and work with First Nations communities to defend their traditional territories and coastlines.
