Elizabeth May and Co-Leader of Green Party of New Zealand hold media availability on electoral reform

(OTTAWA) August 4, 2016 - Elizabeth May, Leader of the Green Party of Canada, and James Shaw, Co-Leader of the Green Party of New Zealand, hold media availability to discuss electoral reform.

Mr. Shaw, a Member of Parliament elected under New Zealand's proportional representation system, is the keynote speaker for Convention 2016, to be held at the Delta Hotels Ottawa City Centre (101 Lyon Street North, Ottawa, ON) from Aug. 5-7.

Both Mr. Shaw and Ms. May will discuss New Zealand’s shift away from the First Past the Post electoral system to a system of proportional representation, and the Trudeau administration's commitment to make Canada's 2015 election the last under our winner-take-all voting system.
