Elizabeth May at Tornado Ground Zero Nepean: Climate Change and the September 21 Tornadoes

OTTAWA - Leader of the Green Party of Canada, Elizabeth May (MP, Saanich-Gulf Islands) will address local residents from Nepean, and Green Party supporters from across the region about climate change and its impact on extreme weather events like the Ottawa Storm of September 21st, 2018.

September 21, 2018 is a day many people in the greater Ottawa-Gatineau will not forget. Multiple neighborhoods sustained significant damage with many residents being displaced. In less than a minute, so many lives in the national capital region were forever changed. While our region experiences one tornado every 10 years or so, six tornadoes in one day is unheard of. As the climate changes, so too does the unpredictability of extreme weather events such as this.

This event is open to the public.

When: February 20, 7pm
Where: Trend-Arlington Community Building, 50 Bellman Drive, Nepean
