OTTAWA – Elizabeth May, Leader of the Green Party of Canada and Member of Parliament for Saanich–Gulf Islands, extends heartfelt sympathies to the families of those killed at a Nanaimo sawmill this morning.
B.C. Coroners Services have confirmed that two people were fatally shot and two others were injured in a shooting that took place early this morning at Nanaimo’s Western Forest Products sawmill.
“I am devastated by this tragic news,” said May. “I pray for the families and loved ones of those who were killed, for the recovery of those who were injured, and for the Nanaimo community.”
