(OTTAWA) - Bruce Hyer, Deputy Leader of the Green Party of Canada and Member of Parliament for Thunder Bay – Superior North, marked the launch of his official campaign last Saturday during a Grand Opening event held at the Thunder Bay Campaign office.
During the event, Hyer introduced Christy Radbourne, who received the nomination to represent the Green Party as the candidate for Thunder Bay – Rainy River. Deputy Leader Hyer spoke of her long-term economic and social plan that offers Thunder Bay residents a refreshed way to look at politics.
“Christy will be an excellent representative for Thunder Bay- Rainy River,” stated Mr. Hyer. “She has an economic plan that goes beyond a four-year election cycle. I look forward to working together as we share a common vision and goal for the residents of Northwestern Ontario.”
Radbourne is the principal of Ogden Community Public School. She stated that the Green Party is the only party that provides Canadians with a fresh perspective.
“Northwestern Ontarians are weary of hearing the same tired promises made by the other three parties that jobs and growth are coming to Thunder Bay,” concluded Radbourne. “We need a long-term plan – one that creates well-paying jobs for Northerners. The Green Party is the only federal party that has a solid and practical economic strategy that looks to the future. That’s why I decided to run as a candidate in this election.”
