TORONTO – On June 23, 2020, TVO will host the first official Green Party of Canada leadership debate. All 10 leadership contestants will participate in the two-debate format, moderated by Steve Paikin, host of TVO’s The Agenda.
Debate one will feature Judy Green, Amita Kuttner, David Merner, Glen Murray and Annamie Paul. Debate two will feature Meryam Haddad, Courtney Howard, Dimitri Lascaris, Dylan Perceval-Maxwell and Andrew West.
“We’re thrilled that TVO is hosting the first official Green Party Leadership debate,” said Green Party Interim Leader Jo-Ann Roberts. “Being able to live stream and then broadcast this exciting event will allow more people the opportunity to tune in and meet our diverse field of contestants.
“Steve Paikin is a respected journalist who will bring his encyclopedic knowledge of Canadian politics and issues to his role as moderator. Contestants will discuss a broad range of topics during the debates, providing viewers with a unique opportunity to learn how each individual would approach leadership of the party.”
Steve Paikin will moderate the debates from TVO’s William G. Davis studio in Toronto. Leadership candidates will be connecting remotely from their homes and offices.
