(OTTAWA) - Elizabeth May, Leader of the Green Party of Canada and Member of Parliament for Saanich-Gulf Islands, will appear before the Standing Committee on the Environment and Sustainable Development at 3:30 p.m. (EST). She will present amendments to Bill S-5, the Nááts’ihch’oh National Park Reserve Act.
Ms. May’s amendments are an attempt to expand the coverage of the park’s boundaries consistent with public consultation conducted in 2010. She will also attempt to ensure that the bill explicitly excludes mining access roads from being built within the park’s boundaries.
