Distinguished and respected Quebec environmentalist to join Green Party as Deputy Leader
(OTTAWA) - Elizabeth May, Leader of the Green Party of Canada and Member of Parliament for Saanich-Gulf Islands, will announce the appointment of a distinguished environmentalist as a Green Party Deputy Leader at a press conference in Ottawa.
Under the Green Party constitution, the Leader can appoint two Deputy Leaders.
Bruce Hyer, Deputy Leader of the Green Party of Canada and Member of Parliament for Thunder Bay – Superior North will participate in the press conference. Mr. Hyer was named Deputy Leader by Ms. May on Jan. 27, 2014.
