(OTTAWA) - Elizabeth May, Leader of the Green Party and MP (Saanich-Gulf Islands), extends heartfelt sympathies to the families of those killed during an attack in Burkina Faso.
A total of 29 people were killed and 56 injured after Islamic militants attacked a hotel in the capital city. Among the injured were six Quebecers, humanitarian volunteers in Africa who were helping to paint and repair a school.
“I am devastated by the news of this senseless act of violence,” said May. “My condolences to the families and loved ones of those who were killed and I pray for the speedy recovery of those who have been injured. May we keep the city of Ouagadougou in our thoughts in the coming days.”
