(OTTAWA) – The Green Party of Canada wishes to extend its congratulations and gratitude to Green by-elections candidates Larry Colero (South Surrey–White Rock), Yvonne Potter Pihach (Battlefords–Lloydminster), Michael DiPasquale (Scarborough–Agincourt), and Tyler Colbourne (Bonavista–Burin–Trinity).
Elizabeth May, Leader of the Green Party of Canada (MP, Saanich-Gulf Islands), said: “We are hugely appreciative of all our candidates for the dedication, hard work and passion they demonstrated over the course of the by-elections campaigns. Their commitment to a cleaner, fairer and more sustainable future for Canada is an inspiration to Greens across the country.
“Each election should be a stark reminder of the Trudeau Administration’s promise that 2015 would be the last federal election under the antiquated and unrepresentative electoral system of First Past the Post. Greens will continue pushing hard for a fair, proportional and modern approach to democratic representation in this country,” concluded Ms. May.
