Gwé, hello, bonjour,

As a young person navigating Canada in 2022, I continue to feel unheard in mainstream politics. With domestic tensions rising and the continued dominance of empire over peoples around the world, it can be disheartening to be a young activist. Add that to being a Green, a worthy but difficult path to choose, and we see young people stay out of politics or worse, fall into radicalization.

I believe politics is a place of collaboration and genuine understanding of the lived experiences of others. There is no way to spark the immense shifts needed in Canada without forging a new way to do politics. I interned with the Global Greens in 2019 and have since believed that green values of decentralization, ecological wisdom, and nonviolence are the key to building that change.

I bring experience as a call centre agent during the 2019 federal election and as a candidate in Halifax Citadel-Sable Island for the 2021 Nova Scotia provincial election. I'm confident that I would bring a fresh, enthusiastic, and knowledgable perspective on both organizational growth and green policies and values to this position.

With the next federal election supposedly off the table until 2025, the Green Party is in a strong position to bring in new supporters. Our party is one that rejects imperialism, that challenges corporate and consumer capitalism based on a cycle of endless growth, and that recognizes the continued dominance of white settler-colonialization over our systems today.

Thank you for your consideration.
