It’s a very, very exciting time lately for GPC Deputy leader Claude Genest. His show, Regeneration - The Art of Sustainable Living, has been nominated for a Boston/New England Emmy Award!

The awards are put on by the National Academy of Television Arts & Science. You can see Claude’s name and show listed on the 2008 nominees at http://boston.emmyonline.org/31stNominationList.pdf on page 7 under Environmental Programs.

The 31st Boston/New England Emmy® Awards Ceremony will be presented at the Boston Marriott Copley Place on this Saturday, May 10, 2008.

On behalf of Greens all across Canada Claude – I’d like to say Go Claude Go!!! We’ll all be cheering for you on Saturday night!

Claude created, produces and hosts the show, which you can view episodes of on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V9Gzo4gDDkQ

“I am so proud of the shows because it focuses on the positive, practical and amazingly profitable solutions that are out there but still mostly unknown," says Claude.

The half-hour magazine-style show features maverick designers and everyday heroes moving viewer from 'Something must be done!' to something we can do.

Mr Genest, who will be attending the Emmy award ceremonies Saturday night says, “I'm just glad to be created the show and got it on air in the first place. This regional Emmy nomination is pure gravy and a amazing honor".

Other exciting news: Claude will be the candidate in the soon-to-be declared by-election in Westmmount Ville Marie. And Claude and I were in Montreal on April 4, 5 and 6 with Al Gore focusing on An Inconvenient Truth. Claude is one of the new 250 presenters across Canada who were personally trained by Al Gore to give the slide show. At a special reception I snapped this photo of Al and Claude:
