Dauphin—Swan River—Neepawa

Born in Saskatchewan and raised by a farming family, Shirley’s ancestors have farmed in Canada since the 1640’s.

After university and college, Shirley worked with a Saskatchewan crown corporation in the technology sector. She had the opportunity to work nationally and internationally on a series of teams with Stentor Canadian Network Management.

She has lived her life as a nurturer, a healer, a communicator, a bridge builder, a facilitator, and active volunteer in her community. A lover of the natural world, Shirley seeks to protect it, restore and revitalize it, and find new ways for humanity to co-exist within it. She is a mother to one amazing daughter.

Shirley seeks a means for all peoples, from the descendants of the original inhabitants to those of generations of immigrants, to find their sense of place, to carve out a meaningful and joyful existence, and to live harmoniously with one another. She seeks to elevate how we govern; relate to one another; hold space for peace, justice, equality, and reconciliation; provide safety, security, health and wellness, and create opportunity for all Canadians.
