OTTAWA – The Green Party of Canada congratulates Mr. David Coon after his election as Leader of the Green Party of New Brunswick on September 22nd 2012.
“I congratulate David for his election. I was there to address the delegates at the Fredericton Convention Center and the energy in the room was just amazing. David is one of the leading environmentalists in the country. I have no doubt he will take the NB Greens to the next step. And that next step is a seat in the Legislative Assembly,” said Green Party of Canada Leader and MP for Saanich-Gulf Island Elizabeth May.
“I would also like to congratulate leadership runner-up Roy McMullin for his campaign. The Greens are on their way up in this country and New Brunswick is no exception,” added May.
David Coon is New Brunswick’s representative on the Federal Council of the Green Party of Canada. The Federal Council governs between GPC general meetings and ensures that the party follows Green values and promotes Green policies.
