As the Lenten period draws to a close with the sombre marking of Good Friday and the death and passion of Jesus Christ, those who observe the joy of Resurrection on Easter Sunday are wished a joyous holiday by the Green Party of Canada.
While the religious aspects of this holiday weekend are marked by non-religious observances, painting hard-boiled eggs, hiding jelly beans, baskets of chocolate bunnies, parades, and even new Easter bonnets, it is for many Canadians the most important and sacred holy day of the religious calendar.
