Statement from Elizabeth May on the appointment of Prof. Michael Lynk as U.N. Special Rapporteur

(OTTAWA) - Elizabeth May, Leader of the Green Party of Canada (MP, Saanich-Gulf Islands), sent the following letter to the office of Minister of Foreign Affairs Stéphane Dion, regarding the confirmed appointment of Prof. Michael Lynk as a United Nations Human Rights Council Special Rapporteur for the Palestinian Territories:

Dear Minister, 

I am writing to urge you to support the appointment of Professor Michael Lynk as a United Nations Advisor to the Human Rights Council. 

I have known Professor Lynk personally for over thirty years and have complete faith in his scholarship, integrity and unswerving commitment to human rights. 

His is an inspired appointment, which does Canada proud.
