Statement on Remembrance Day

(OTTAWA) November 11, 2017 – Elizabeth May, Leader of the Green Party of Canada (MP, Saanich-Gulf Islands), released the following statement:

“Today, Canadians in towns and cities across the country gather together to lay wreaths at cenotaphs, to honour and remember our veterans. We wear poppies to express our gratitude and to remember their selfless commitment to defend values that Canadians cherish.

“Many generations have gone around the world on military missions and as peacekeepers. We recommit ourselves to achieving peace.

“Today, and always, lest we forget.”
