OTTAWA – In light of the air strike carried out by the United States in Iraq, the Green Party of Canada is calling on all parties to reach out to the international community for support in preventing escalation of the conflict.
Any actions that could provoke destabilization or that threaten war within the Gulf region are to be avoided and the air strike should not be used as a pretence for escalation or retaliation.
The Green Party urges maximum restraint and supports the Canadian government in its efforts to promote stability in the region.
