OTTAWA – The Green Party of Canada extends warm wishes to Muslims in Canada and around the world celebrating Eid al-Adha. Also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, Eid al-Adha honours accomplishment and follows the annual pilgrimage to Mecca.
“Due to pandemic travel restrictions, many Muslims have not been able to make the spiritual pilgrimage to Mecca this year,” said Green Party Leader Annamie Paul. “We hope that the strong vaccine rollout and current lifting of restrictions across Canada will permit families and communities to observe Eid al-Adha prayers and celebrations together this year.
