(OTTAWA) - Elizabeth May, Leader of the Green Party of Canada and Member of Parliament for Saanich – Gulf Islands, is pleased to announce the appointment of North Vancouver candidate, Claire Martin, as the Party’s Climate Change Critic.

“Claire Martin is knowledgeable, whip-smart and committed to climate action,” said Ms. May. “As a Member of Parliament in a larger green caucus, her scientific background and expertise will make her the indispensable 'go-to' person in Parliament.  I am so grateful she has accepted the role of Climate Change Critic on the Green Party’s Shadow Cabinet.”

“I'm proud and honoured to be announced as the Climate Change Critic for the Green Party. Canada was once a leader in addressing climate issues - and I truly believe we can be that again,” concluded Claire Martin. “Canadians are becoming increasingly alarmed at the lack of planning from the current Government. We will change that. It’s going to take firm, bold and responsible action - something that the Green Party is committed to delivering.”
